About

Hi! I'm so glad you stopped by my blog! Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I live in the great state of Georgia and have been teaching now for 10 years. I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Middle Grades Education. After college, I spent a year as a substitute in my county at the elementary and middle school level. I loved elementary school so much that I decided to make the switch! I have been at my current school since the beginning of my teaching career, and I love it! I couldn't imagine finding another group of teachers who are as passionate and talented as my teaching family {I know I'm a little biased. :)}! My first position was in Special Education. I taught grades 3-5 in both the co-taught and small group setting. I taught second grade for six years. I am currently teaching fifth grade, and it is by far my most favorite! I obtained my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2013 from Valdosta State University. I am hoping one day to move from the classroom to education policy. I started this little blog because I am passionate about teaching, and I have learned so much from reading other teacher blogs. As I read through blogs, I am constantly amazed by the many inspirational and wonderful teachers out there! I feel that I am able to become a better teacher through sharing my experiences and learning from others. As for my teaching style, I'm a hands-on teacher and I hope to inspire creativity and critical thinking in my students. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy reading, cooking, crafting, and spending time with friends and family. I have been married to my wonderful husband for eight years, and we have two kiddos (ages 5 and 2). Again, thanks for stopping by! Be sure to leave comments; I love hearing from you!
